In the plot, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford were sisters and former actresses who were living in an old mansion and trying to relive their former fame. Jane, played by Bette Davis, tormented Blanche, played by Joan Crawford, her disabled sister.

Ole Kirk Christiansen (1891-1958) was a jobless carpenter, a father of four sons and a widower when he constructed some wooden ducks for his children to play with. Seeing how much his sons liked them, he proceeded to produce them as a business. In 1947, the material used for the construction of his toys changed to plastic.

The name of his company, LEGO, comes from LEg GOdt, which means "play well" in Danish. Because LEGO are constructed based on a "universal system", no matter which year a block is made, it will always interlock with a piece from another year.
